Highly acrobatic Cossack, Ukrainian and Russian dance moves: polzunets, prisyadki (knee bending), koza (series of round jumps), chertik, raznozhka (split) and others performed by dancer Andrij Cybyk. He began his dance training in Ohio, where he studied Ukrainian and Character dance in the ensemble Kashtan and Ballet at the University of Akron Conservatory of Dance. Later Andrij went to Ukraine and attended the Virsky School of Academic Ukrainian Folk Dance in Kyiev, Ukraine. He graduated with the title Artist of Ballet and returned to the United States.
Valentina Kvasova performs Russian, Cossacks, Ukrainian, Klezmer and Gypsy traditional dances and songs. She was born in Russia, in the city of Rostov-na-Donu. After finishing of the formal education in Voronezh Choreographic School in 1994 she has been invited to The Don Cossacks State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble as the actress of ballet. Professional skills and great talent let Valentina join the concert program in a short period of time and soon to become soloist of the ensemble. Kvasova Valentina successfully performed with The Don Cossacks State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble in Russia, Japan, Spain, Hungary, the republic of South Africa, the USA and other countries. As a professional Russian folk dancer Valentina Kvasova equally manages roles of lyrical, playful or comic characters. The dynamical, bright, sociable, talented person, Valentina is having recognition among professionals.
Mikhail Smirnov is a a professional Russian folk singer, performer and musician with many years of experience.
He plays garmoshka, balalaika, guitar, balalaika contrabass and gusli.
His specialty is traditional Russian music and songs from various regions of Russia.
As a student of Moscow State Institute of Culture Mikhail (Misha) went to many different parts of Russia such as Tver, Smolensk and Belgorod as a collector of Russian folklore. Mr. Smirnov recorded over 100 hours of Russian folk
songs, tunes, and lyrics. Many of those songs are used in the program of New York based Russian folk music
and dance ensemble "Barynya", where he is working as a managing director since the group was found in 1991. Mikhail Smirnov started Russian entertainment database website in 1998.
