The musicians of Chicago based band "The Internationals" believe that music doesn't have borders. Therefore they play and sing songs from around the world. The band is unique in a way that it combines classical instruments like violin, piano, clarinet and traditional instruments like balalaika, domra, mandolin, bayan - Russian button accordion to produce an unusual and reach combination of sounds.

THE CHICAGO COSSACKS will present a program of Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian and Gypsy traditional dances and songs performed on traditional instruments: domra (Russian mandolin), bayan (Russian button accordion), balalaika. The entertainment includes the English translation of the lyrics and overview and history of Russian folk instruments.
Tickets are $20 in advance,

Barynya - Russian folk music and dance ensemble from New York established in 1991. Russian, Tsygansky (Russian Gypsy Roma), Cossack, Ukrainian traditional dances, songs, virtuoso performances on musical instruments (balalaika, garmoshka, bayan, domra, balalaika-contrabass) with explanation of the program in English. Oleg Timofeyev holds an M.A. in Early Music Performance from the University of Southern California (1993), and a Ph.D. in Performance Practice from Duke University (1999). Lead guitarist and artist of the Moscow Gypsy Theater Romen, Vadim Kolpakov has been steeped in the tradition from childhood, plays the Russian 7- string guitar, sings and dances.
