He has an extensive experience performing pop, classical, jazz, Broadway, world and R & B Music. Sergei performs throughout the world in concert halls, at international festivals and in casinos with live bands and alone with playbacks. Sergei Gurbelo graduated from Gnesins Music Institute of Moscow, Russia with concentration in both jazz and classical saxophone studies. Over years, he participated in an orchestra led by Leonid Utesov, in a jazz group "Allegro", led by Nick Levinovsky, and in a popular ensemble called "Melody", led by Boris Frumkin. Sergei (Russian: Сергей Гурбелошвили) worked hand in hand with the most famous and well respected composers in Russia. He was the first performer to play classical music pieces composed especially in his honor. He participated in all large jazz related functions hosted in the former USSR and traveled with various ensembles and also with his own band around the world. Serge Gurbelo recorded three solo albums, accompanied over 200 albums with famous Russian stars, and recorded over 20 albums of instrumental jazz and pop music. Since 1992, Sergei resides and works in New York. He performs jazz, blues, pop, Brazilian, ethnic, and classical music with leading musicians around the world. PHOTOS
