Russian dance and music ensemble Barynya from New York performed at the Russian Federation Embassy Estate in the United States of America with Olga Chpitalnaia (dancer), Alexey Maltsev (dancer), Leonid Bruk (balalaika-contrabass), Alexander Menshikov (singer), Mikhail Smirnov (vocal, garmoshka, guitar, artistic director/founder), Alex Siniavski (Gypsy guitar, balalaika, musical director).

Performance took place during annual Regatta party on Saturday, August 30, 2008. Ensemble Barynya was invited to perform at the Russian Embassy's Dacha for the second time.

We loved warm athmosphere, food and drinks. And we hope that our audience, guests of the Russian Embassy and its employees liked our program as well.

Ensemble Barynya performed Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian, Siberian, Tsygansky (Russian Gypsy Roma) folk songs and dances. Before the folk program Russian DJ Barnaul (a.k.a ensemble Barynya dancer Alexey Maltsev) and singer Alexander Menshikov kept the party going with popular Russian, Italian and American dancing songs and music.
